WorldVenturesÔ, the leading direct seller of global travel and leisure club memberships, is currently looking for a Copywriter/Editor to join their Marketing Communications (Marcom) team within the Plano headquarters. Marcom’s high-volume, fast-paced environment calls for the ability to think clearly, strategically and creatively. As a Copywriter/Editor, you need to be able to craft and edit messages that capture our audience’s attention. You must possess the ability to deliver a powerful message efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for understanding the goal, audience and message of a campaign or product and edit/create copy to suit. You will be the go-to person for marketing communications, which requires a thorough understanding of content, creative problem-solving and adaptability to a culture where urgent requests are the norm. You should be flexible, proactive and positive. You will be responsible for efficient and effective communication each day and delivering projects with results.


For internal/external communication vehicles, the Copywriter/Editor will write, edit and review copy and make recommended changes using AP and in-house style guides to produce error-free work. Review graphic layouts in all phases of completion to ensure that company branding and graphic standards are implemented correctly. Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the corporate style guide for grammar and usage and enforce its content with internal staff, partners and vendors. Other core responsibilities are outlined as follows:

  • Develop marketing content for collateral materials such as booklets, brochures, newsletters, video scripts, instructional fliers, FAQ documents and presentations.
  • Review layout and pagination to ensure accuracy and consistency with company branding guidelines and corporate vision.
  • Write editorial content for publications and newsletters, as well as blog posts and one-off interview articles.
  • Produce compelling, concise copy for marketing collateral, emails and web content that support the overall strategy of the marketing campaign or internal client need.
  • Support product team initiatives with targeted communications such as email drip campaigns, website content and marketing tools.
  • Support executive communications for social, events and video.
  • Support corporate branding effort and company brand equity by ensuring that all project work created by the department meets the branding and identity guidelines established.
  • Edit and proof print and digital content for accurate use of grammar and style, ensuring documents adhere to appropriate voice, style and format.
  • Track changes and use comparison/merge functionality in Microsoft Word and other tools, to complete assignments.
  • Work with writers and editors to lift the quality of writing, management of processes and professional practices.
  • Review concept/copy and serve as sensitivity reviewer for marketing materials for corporate- and program-sponsored projects as required.
  • Develop and edit copy for major internal and external communications vehicle including magazine, event booklets, event collateral, online newsletters and other vehicles.


  • Excellent copywriting and copyediting skills. Responsible for planning and organizing content and pagination, meeting and communicating with field leaders and executives, interviewing Representatives and writing compelling articles. You may also be asked to write and edit content for marketing tools.
  • Strong understanding of AP and Yahoo style guides (knowledge of Guardian style a plus).
  • Advanced knowledge of spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a copywriter and editor in a professional environment.
  • Copywriting/content management experience.
  • Agency or consumer writing (B2C) experience a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to details.
  • Experience collaborating with writers and editors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends when needed.
  • Professional and positive attitude. Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
  • Ability to be flexible and patient with shifts in direction.
  • Self-starter, quick learner, checks own work and creates/follows processes.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • BA/BS or higher in English, Communications, Journalism or related field.
  • Stays current on industry best practices and trends in communications.
